Hughes Farm in Janesville got a visit from Governor Tony Evers Thursday morning.
Evers says the Hughes farm is doing great work on cover crops and helping keep the Rock River clean, but they’re also looking to the future and seeing how money can be made off cover crops, which will get more people involved.
Evers says the work done by the Willie Hughes led group Farmers on the Rock absolutely makes a difference in the environment and in the water, and he’s been trying to get more money to fund these types of groups.
Evers made the stop to discuss and support the Producer-Led Watershed Protection Grant Program.
