The United Way of Walworth County is setting an example for how to distribute federal funding intended to offset the negative impacts of COVID-19.

CEO Tammy Dunn says the 45 non-profits the United Way of Walworth County serves were hit hard when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the canceling of many fundraisers.

Dunn says total of $275,000 in ARPA funding has been distributed over three rounds

In the latest round of funding, 24 Walworth County non-profits received grants of between $1000 and $7,400.

The United Way of Walworth County was the first United Way in the country to receive ARPA funding.
