The Rock County District Attorney’s office will not be filing charges against County Chair Rich Bostwick for alleged violations of open meeting laws.

According to a release, the Rock County Administrator and Corporate Counsel have agreed to recommend changes to the County Board and in the future will use the County Staff Committee to review and make recommendations on replacement candidates.

Future board vacancies will be placed on the Staff Committee agenda and be subject to open records and open meetings laws and will thus be open to the public and the media.

In a release, Bostwick says the public has an increasing demand for information about how government operates, and the County will go above and beyond to meet that expectation.

O’Leary said in the release he will follow up on an upcoming Staff Committee meeting to assure compliance.
