Half of the State of Wisconsin is under extreme danger of wildfires.

Governor Tony Evers declares a State of Emergency due to elevated wildfire conditions Wednesday.

Janesville Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Lukas says while the City has no ban in place, recreational fires are highly discouraged.

Lukas says the dry, windy conditions Wednesday were the perfect recipe for wildfires.

Lukas says fire crews responded to a brush fire in the Milton area on Tuesday and the Clinton Fire Department responded to a brush fire Wednesday.
