The 71-year-old Beloit man who was arrested in Iowa by the U.S. Marshals Service after he failed to appear on child pornography is sentenced in Rock County Court.

Michael McMahon was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography in February of 2020 after a search warrant executed on his home turned up child porn on thumb drives.

The investigation into McMahon was part of a nationwide investigation of a fee-based commercial child exploitation website.

In January McMahon plead guilty top a single count of possession of child pornography and the second count was dismissed but read into the record.

Tuesday in Rock county court Judge John Wood sentenced McMahon to three years in prison and five yeas of extended supervision. He must register as a sex offender for 15 years.
