The $15 million dollars included in Governor Tony Evers’ 2023-2025 budget for the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center isn’t a done deal quite yet.

Senator Mark Spreitzer tells WCLO’s Your Talk Show the capitol budget still needs to get past the Building Commission and the Joint Finance Committee before it is voted on by the full legislature in June.

Spreitzer says what’s really going to matter is the Joint Finance Committee process, but the good news is there is bi-partisan support for the project in Janesville and people will reach out to his Republican Colleagues about why the money needs to be included.

The Building Commission is slated to meet at the end of March.
