One person is dead after a suspect fleeing from police crashes head-on with another vehicle in Walworth County.

According to a news release, the Walworth County 911 Communications Center received reports of a reckless driver on Interstate 43 near Highway 14 in the town of Darien just after 9:00 Thursday night.

City of Delavan Police located the vehicle and attempted to stop it.

The vehicle continued traveling northbound in the southbound lanes and eventually struck another vehicle head-on near the County Highway F Bridge in the town of Delavan.

The suspect vehicle caught fire, and the driver, 32-year-old Eric R. Peters of Colgate, Wisconsin was pulled from the wreckage and transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.

The 44-year-old driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. His passenger, 27-year-old Kimberly Ann Fannan of Rockford was transported to an area hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.
