The Janesville City Council decides whether to bring back Bird electric scooters at their meeting on Monday night.

Janesville City staff are recommending another partnership with the company Bird for electric scooters in the downtown area this summer.

Feedback from Janesville residents on the pilot Bird Scooter program is mostly positive.

Assistant to the City Manager Erin Davis says there were concerns about underage riders, the scooters blocking the sidewalks, and tire marks being left on the sidewalks.

Between August 16th and October 31st of 2022 people took close to 6,500 rides on the Bird scooters in Janesville and traveled over 11,000 miles.
