
The Janesville City Council has narrowed down the candidate pool for the cities open city manager position.
According to a press release, the council narrowed the list of 32 applicants to 12 during a closed session at Monday night’s meeting.
In the release, the city said the recruitment firm assisting the council with the recruitment will conduct interviews with the remaiing candidates over the next few weeks.
There will be a special meeting of the city council in early February, when a list of finalists will be identified from the remaining candidates.
According to the release, community members will have the opportunity to meet the final candidates in person and provide feedback.
Due to a Wisconsin state statute, candidates names cannot be named at this point in the search.
