This week’s December Graduation Ceremony at Blackhawk Technical College was a special one for a few different reasons.

Executive Director of Marketing & Communications Liz Paulsen says about fifty graduates from various programs participated in the college’s first December ceremony in more than a decade.

Paulsen says this weeks event also marks the first ceremony to be held in the college’s new Conference Center located at the main campus.

Paulsen says after COVID they’ve seen an increase in students wanting to celebrate life milestones like graduation a little sooner, so they wanted to be able to help students by having a winter ceremony.

Paulsen says Blachawk’s enrollment continues to rise and they expect about 200 students to participate in the spring ceremony.
