The United Way of Walworth County is setting an example for how to distribute federal funding intended to offset the negative impacts of COVID-19.
CEO Tammy Dunn says the 45 non-profits the United Way of Walworth County serves were hit hard when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the canceling of many fundraisers.
Dunn says $100,000 in ARPA funding was distributed last year, and another $75,000 was distributed this week.
In the latest round of funding, 22 Walworth County non-profits received grants of between $1000 and $7,500.
The United Way of Walworth County was the first United Way in the country to receive ARPA funding.
