The Edgerton Fire Protection district will now look over five new towns after a vote last week approved the additions.

Edgerton Fire Chief Randall Pickering says local leaders have been collaborating for 18 months to tackle staffing shortages and improve response time and the amount of people able to answer calls.

Pickering says with the additions, two new fire stations will be built in Milton in heavily populated areas that receive a large number of calls.

Pickering says the ability of ten different municipal government’s to agree on something shows how much each cares about their communities.
