A Rock County Board Supervisor is denying involvement with an infamous far-right, anti-government group.

According to leaked documents from the Anti-Defamation League, District 8 Supervisor Rick Richard is one of six people from Wisconsin who are among hundreds of members of government, law enforcement, and the military around the country who signed up at some point with the Oath Keepers.

The Oath Keepers is a group associated with the January 6th attack at the U-S Capitol.

A statement issued by the County says the Board Supervisor involved in media reports has publicly denied being a member of the Oath Keepers.

The statement from Rock County Board Chair Rich Bostwick and County Administrator Josh Smith goes on to say that the statements and actions of the Oath Keepers are inconsistent with Rock County’s values and vision for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Richard did not respond to requests for comment prior to air time.
