The City of Beloit is holding public forums to gather feedback from the community on what they want in the future city manager.

One resident said that being media savvy and having good communication, branding and imaging were important for the position.

Another resident said that while not necessary, it would be ideal that the future city manager live in the city limits of Beloit.

Executive Search Firm Baker Tilly official Patty Heminover, who hosted the forum, said that having someone with some ties to the area will be an important part of the search so there is a connection to the community and they’ll be invested.

The city will be holding two other sessions Saturday with one at 10:00am at the Merrill Community Center and another at 2:00pm at Hackett Elementary school.
