A recount of Rock County’s Republican primary results for Wisconsin’s 2nd Congressional District seat doesn’t go in favor of the candidate who requested it.
County Clerk Lisa Tollefson says the difference between the winner, Erik Olsen, and the other candidate Charity Barry was just 73 votes out of the over 40,000 that were cast in the entire Congressional District.
Tollefson says it took a day and a half to hand count the 7,400 ballots in Rock County, and as a result, Barry lost one vote, and Olsen’s tally was unchanged.
The 2nd Congressional District covers parts of Dane, Sauk, Iowa, Layfayette, Green, and Rock Counties. As of air time, two of the other Counties had not yet completed their recounts.
