The City of Janesville is posting a water quality advisory at Lions Beach.

According to a news release, the City takes weekly water samples at Lions Beach to monitor E. coli bacteria.

The beach’s most recent water quality test, collected the week of August 15th showed elevated bacteria levels in the swimming area.

Bacteria counts at the beach vary throughout the season depending on usage and environmental factors, such as rainfall.
