The deer problem at botanical gardens in Janesville has those in charge looking for answers.

Executive Director Becky Kronberg says they’ve been looking for a solution because people won’t come to the garden if they can’t see the unique things the garden has to offer and they don’t want to lose out on roughly 250,000 thousand dollars.

Director of Horticulture Michael Jesiolowski says they’ve tried a multitude of options including liquid sprays, deterrents, and even covering the shrubs but those options aren’t working in stopping the deer.

The Janesville City Council recently tabled a first reading on an ordinance to allow the bow hunting of deer in the gardens.
