The City of Beloit will be receiving some federal help in improving the roads and infrastructure near the future Ho Chunk Nation project site.

Director of Strategic Communications Sarah Lock says the city will be receiving about 13.4 million dollars through the RAISE grant and that the money will be used on road improvements on Willowbrook and Colley roads.

Lock says the city of Beloit applied for the grant, and that the Ho-Chunk nation will be providing the required local match to fund the project so that it won’t come from city of Beloit taxes.

Work on the Ho-Chunk Nation project is expected to begin some time in 2023.
