Republican Ellen Schutt will face Democrat Brienne Brown in the race for Wisconsin’s 31st Assembly District in November.

Schutt, who’s a former legislative aid for Incumbent Amy Loudenbeck and research assistant for Representative Tony Kurtz defeated Whitewater School Board Member Maryann Zimmerman and U.S. Marine Corp Veteran Jason Dean in the primary election Tuesday.

Wisconsin’s 31st Assembly District includes parts of Rock and Walworth Counties.

Incumbent Amy Loudenbeck plans to vacate the seat at the end of her term as she’s currently running for Secretary of State. After winning the Republican primary Tuesday she will go on to face longtime Democratic Incumbent Doug LaFollette in November.
