A 57-year-old Beloit man is under arrest for OWI 6th offense after telling police his adult daughter had bee driving.

According to the criminal complaint, the State Patrol was dispatched to the report of a truck on the side of the shoulder of I-39/90 northbound between Janesville and Beloit just after 3:00 p.m. on July 24th.

The State Patrol says a trooper observed James M. Ahline outside of the vehicle, leaning on the front bumper, and smelling of alcohol.

Ahline claimed his daughter had been driving, although there was nobody else on scene.

After failing field sobriety tests, Ahline was placed under arrest for operating while intoxicated, 6th offense.
