Possible four way stop signs at the intersections where West Milwaukee Street meets Jackson and Rivers Streets were the topic of discussion at a special city council meeting last week.

City Manager Mark Freitag says the original designs for the streets might’ve had something go wrong in the design phase and that it made sense on a 2-D drawing but when you have big vehicles like trucks and SUVs, sight lines don’t work and it gets hard to get around.

Council President Paul Benson voiced his support for the addition of those four ways during last weeks special city council meeting, citing the sight line concerns.

Freitag says the proposal will be brought before the city council next month and that the first meeting will have it discussed and it will be acted upon at the second meeting.
