A Vulnerable Citizen’s Registry Program is available to Fort Atkinson residents to help vulnerable citizens in case of emergency. Fort Atkinson Police Department’s Police Chief Adrian Bump says it’s something he’s wanted to do for a while, it was on the back burner, and it was an idea. Bump says they recently had a citizen whose parent was going to move in with them that had Dementia. He says the citizen was worried about the parent and asked if F.A.P.D did anything within their department allowing them to have information about them in case they went missing. He says it was a trigger point which told him they needed to do this, motivating them to finally make it happen. According to a news release, to join the program, families must complete an Emergency Medical Information form which is available at fortatkinsonwi.net/policeforms.
