The Beloit Police Department is making the public aware of a of convicted sex offender who is moving in to the community.

67-year-old Ervin Burris is living at 1243 Hackett Street after being released from a Chapter 980 civil commitment.

Burris was convicted of first-degree sexual assault of a child in 1989. Burris also has fourth degree sexual assault, indecent exposure, and lewd and lascivious behavior convictions from the 1970’s and 1980’s

Burris is being released without supervision. He is required to register as a sex offender for life and cooperate with GPS monitoring.
