The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office is releasing the name of the Rockford teenager who was killed in a shootout last Thursday evening in the town of Beloit.

The Rock County Sheriff’s office says deputies were called to investigate a shots fired complaint a little after 6:00 p.m. on December 9th in the 1900 block of Porter Avenue.

Three shooting victims were found. Two were transported to a local hospital, and 17-year-old Byron D. Broomfield Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three more gunshot victims later turned up at the emergency room.

The Medical Examiner’s Office says preliminary results of the autopsy indicate that Broomfield’s death was the result of homicidal firearm related trauma.
