After being closed for more than two years, the front entrance to Janesville City Hall is accessible again.
City Manager Mark Freitag says a new waterproofing membrane and repairs to City Hall’s underground parking structures have helped fortify the structural integrity of the plaza.
Fretiag says the project also includes hearted sidewalks, a new green roofing system on the plaza, new planters, bike racks, and railings.
Freitag says staff marked the occasion of the front plaza reopening with a flag-raising ceremony last week.
The project to improve the fifty-year-old plaza first began in May of 2019 after the City identified concerns with it’s structural integrity.
