Janesville police are investigating a fatal automobile crash on the city’s near southeast side.  Police were called to the area of Palmer Drive and South Main Street at 10:46 p.m. Saturday for a single vehicle crash.  Officers say they found the driver pinned in the vehicle and dead at the scene.  The initial investigation determined the vehicle was westbound on Palmer Drive passing Rotary Gardens when the driver failed to negotiate a curve.  The vehicle left he road and hit a tree.  Speed is considered a significant contributing factor.  The identity of the driver will be released after his family is notified.
