Rock County is averaging about six new cases of COVID-19 a day after being down to one or two cases a day just a couple weeks ago.

Public Health Department Epidemiologist Nick Zupan says to date 16,521 Rock County residents have tested positive.

Zupan says most recently there were five people in the hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19.

Zupan says there have been three instances of the Delta variant being identified in Rock County.

Zupan admits that not everyone who tests positive for COVID-19 has their specimen sent to the lab for genetic sequencing.
