A local Congressman is pushing for more uniform voting rights across the country. Second District Congressman Mark Pocan of Black Earth says more than two-hundred reform bills are currently proposed in state legislators. Pocan contends government’s purpose should be to make voting easier, not harder for certain groups of people. The Democrat suggests a bill currently working its way from the House to the Senate could help standardize those rights across the country. Critics call it an attempt to federalize elections.
