A local community is working to get the word out about it’s Independence Day celebration after a misprint in the paper says it’s canceled.

Village of Sharon 4th of July Celebration Chairperson Dawn Redenius says the day begins with Big Wheel Races at 10:00 a.m. downtown and then a parade at 11:00 a.m.

Redenius says following the parade, events in Goodland Memorial Park will include food trucks, a beer garden. craft vendors, games, and a DJ.

The event culminates with a fireworks display at dusk.
