The Milton School Board reaches a stalemate on a continued mask requirement for students and staff.

The board voted on but was unable to pass multiple motions to set an end date for the district’s mask policy.

For the second-straight meeting, a group of parents spoke during the public comment portion of the meeting to ask the board to give students the choice to wear masks.

The CDC and local health departments continue to recommend that students and staff wear masks in schools.

The lack of a resolution by the school board means the mask requirement will continue, but superintendent Rich Dahman has authority to change district protocols if health officials update their guidance.
