Beloit fire officials are investigating an early morning blaze on the city’s west side. Firefighters were called to 1329 Shirland Avenue at 2:59 a.m. Tuesday morning. Firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the two-story residence when they arrived. Most of the damage was contained to the second floor. Damage is estimated at $25 thousand. No one is reported hurt, but one person is displaced and being assisted by the Red Cross.
