A 29-year-old Janesville man is facing charges including Domestic Violence, Recklessly Endangering Safety, and Arson after being accused of making threats with a knife and setting a southside home on fire. Janesville Police say officers responded to a disturbance call involving Joshua A. Kaster in the 3600 block of Birdsong Lane a little after 2:00 p.m. Thursday. Police say during the incident, Kaster said officers would have to kill him. Police were prepared with several less lethal options and after the use of a Pepperball launcher, Kaster dropped the knife and was taken into custody. Fire damage to the home is estimated around $75-thousand.
