Candidates running for area state assembly seats report a wide range of fundraising totals so far.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission required all candidates to submit campaign financing reports, which covered all money received and spent between January 1 and June 30.

Janesville City Council President Sue Conley’s campaign has raised the most money of any local candidate so far, bringing in over $21,000 from over 125 donors in her race for the 44th District Assembly seat.

Her largest individual donor listed in the report is $1,000 from former Democratic state senator Tim Cullen. Conley also received over $4,000 from other committees, including Friends of Deb Kolste.

She is running against Republican Duwayne Severson, whose campaign has raised $15,691 from 27 individual donors and four committees.

In the 43rd District Assembly race, incumbent Democrat Don Vruwink’s team brought in just over $20,000, while his Republican challenger Beth Drew raised $5,347 from four donors and one committee.

Democrat Liz Lochner-Abel surpassed incumbent Republican Amy Loudenbeck in fundraising for the 31st Assembly District seat. The challenger raised $17,335 from over 275 individual donors, while Loudenbeck garnered $10,385 during the same period.

The 45th District Assembly race has incumbent Mark Spreitzer out-raising challenger Tawny Gustina 3-to-1. The Democrat’s campaign reported $14,980 in funds compared to the Republican’s $4,200.
