Spring planting is way ahead of last year at this time. UW Extension Agriculture Agent for Rock County Nick Baker says last spring was so wet, some farmers never completed planting. This year he says 30-40 % of the crop is already in. On the downside however, grain prices are very low. Baker attributes this in part to a lack of exports due to COVID-19 weakend foreign economies.
