A Janesville shooting suspect is cut loose by the Rock County District Attorney’s Office.

24-year-old Dalton Talley was arrested August 29th in connection with a shooting at Craig High School that damaged a door while the building was empty.

Talley appeared before Rock County Court Commissioner Jack Hoag on August 30th where cash bond was set at $2,000 even though no charges were ever filed.

Monday afternoon Assistant District Attorney David Olson asked that Talley be released from bond pending further investigation.

At the time of his arrest Janesville Police said Talley faced charges of criminal property damage, and possession and discharge of a firearm in a school zone.

Police have not said whether Talley is also suspected in a separate, reported shooting that authorities say blew out multiple windows at the Masonic Center the same night as the shooting at the school.
