Janesville Police are investigating an armed robbery at a local hotel.

According to a news release, officers were dispatched to the AmericInn Lodge & Suites on Milton Avenue shortly after 11:00 Monday night.

Investigation determined a male suspect entered the hotel, threatened the employee while insinuating he had a gun, and then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The clerk was not hurt.

The suspect is described as a black man who is about five foot 11, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes, and a white mask.
