black-baseball-history

It’s been an extraordinary year and a half in baseball history, including the history of Black baseball.

Learn more about it at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21 at Hedberg Public Library, 316 S. Main St., as editor John Graf discusses recent baseball developments, including Major League Baseball’s recognition of the Negro Leagues as major leagues and the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Negro National League. Graf will also discuss the book he edited for the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR), From Rube to Robinson, that compiles the best articles on Black baseball.

There is no registration necessary for this free program. A book sale and signing will follow the presentation.

Stop in to see Graf’s display honoring the Negro Baseball League in the library’s Fireplace Room throughout the month of September during regular library hours.
