Two people are under arrest in connection with a homicide Monday in Beloit that happened in broad daylight.
Beloit Police were dispatched to a report of shots fired shortly before 11:30 a.m. June 7th in the 1700 block of Porter Avenue.
Arriving officers found a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body. He later died at a local hospital.
According to a Facebook post, the Rock County District Attorney’s office on Thursday charged 18-year-old Elontae M. Phiffer and 19-year-old Damon E. Allen with party to the crime of first degree intentional homicide. Phiffer, and Allen turned themselves in early Friday morning at the Rock County Jail.
A third suspect, 19-year-old Journee R. Weathers Jr., who officers believe was the shooter, has a warrant for a charge of first degree intentional homicide.
According to the criminal complaint, a dispute over payment for a vehicle happened prior to the victim being fatally shot.
