The Janesville Police Department is beginning to step up patrols along what’s known as the Milton Avenue “Strip”.  Friday and Saturday nights can appear out-of-control, but Deputy Police Chief Terry Sheridan says enhanced patrols are showing results.  Sheridan says last year close to 1000 traffic stops resulted in 900 tickets.  He says the most common citations were issued for invalid driver’s license, lack of insurance, and speeding.  Money for the increased patrols comes in part from state grants.
