A fairly normal day in the legislature is how State Representative Mark Spreitzer of Beloit describes the passage of a bill to modernize the unemployment compensation system. The Democrat says he’s pleased with the bipartisan support for a measure intended to fix an outdated computer system delaying payments to some unemployed workers for the better part of a year. The anticipated cost is upwards of 80-million dollars and will need funding included in the state budget to fully complete.
