A Janesville man’s conviction in Rock County Court for sexually assaulting a young girl he knows is likely to result in prison time due to his revoked parole in a federal case.

55-year-old Quince Wright pleaded guilty Tuesday to a reduced charge of third-degree sexual assault as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

He was originally charged with repeated sexual assault of a child. The criminal complaint accused him of multiple sexual contacts with the young girl and trying to give her money like a prostitute.

Rock County Judge Barbara McCrory followed the joint recommendation and agreed to withhold sentencing by placing him on probation for five years, with one year in the Rock County Jail.

Because Wright was on parole from previous federal drug charges, he is expected to serve at least three years in prison from that case as a result of this new felony conviction.

He will also be required to register as a sex offender for 15 years after he finishes serving his time in both cases.
