Police believe a Beloit woman was involved with a man from Wales, Wisconsin who helped pay her rent and bills with money that turned out to be stolen.

65-year-old Daniel Stillmank is accused of taking over $375,000 from a woman who showed signs of cognitive decline. She would give him the cash, and he admitted to taking it under false pretenses to pay off a drug debt.

The criminal complaint filed in Waukesha County Court said Stillmank spent between $20,000 and $30,000 of the victim’s money on bills and rent payments for another woman who lives in Beloit.

He told police the Beloit woman views him as her “sugar daddy” after multiple years of paying her expenses.

Stillmank failed to appear for a court appearance last month, so a judge filed a warrant for his arrest.

Court records show Stillmank has several traffic citations and a misdemeanor case still pending in Rock County Court from June, July and November of 2018.
