The Janesville teen accused of shooting a man and stealing his vehicle on June 6 is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, armed carjacking, burglary and misdemeanor theft.

17-year-old Kenan Clemons made his initial appearance in Rock County Court Monday, when court commissioner Jack Hoag set a $50,000 cash bond.

Assistant District Attorney Mason Braunschweig said Clemons confessed to stealing the vehicle and pulling the trigger, which left the victim needing five surgeries.

Clemons told officers that the victim was yelling at him and a second juvenile suspect over the bicycle they stole, and the victim slammed the juvenile off of his bike and to the ground.

Clemons admitted to shooting the victim multiple times before jumping into the vehicle and driving away.

Police located and arrested the two teenagers last Thursday in the 200 block of South Academy Street.
