105.9 THE HOG Sponsors: The Stateline Roller Derby Divas
The Stateline Roller Derby Divas are an all-female amateur flat track roller derby league skating in the Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin border area. The Stateline Divas showcase over 30 skaters with more women joining everyday. Team members come from diverse backgrounds-- skaters range in age from 18 to nearly 50 and have an equally wide range of jobs in real life. The Divas are part of the derby revolution, joining hundreds of teams across the nation in playing on a flat-track with real women, real hits, and real action.
Skaters share a love of the sport, their team, and the larger roller derby community. The Divas are a Not-For Profit league, owned and operated by the skaters themselves. Tirelessly working both on and off the track, they rely on monthly dues paid by members, help from willing volunteers, and support from generous sponsors in order to play. While team members are all female, men are welcome to participate as referees, scorekeepers, announcers and volunteers. If you would like to learn more come and check out a practice at Skatin Station on Inman Parkway, Beloit WI. Sunday's 5:30-7:30pm, Tuesday's & Thursday's 6:30-8:30pm. 105.9 THE HOG Sponsors: Floyd Hodges
My name is Floyd Hodges II. I am 23 years old and I currently live in Janesville Wisconsin. I moved to Beloit Wisconsin in 2002 during my sophomore year of high school. I attended Beloit Memorial High and graduated in 2005. During my three years at Beloit Memorial I participated in football, wrestling and track. In 2004 I started training in kickboxing but I didn’t fight until 2006. I didn’t really have time to practice let alone fight because school sports took up a lot of my time. After a few kickboxing fights, I started playing semi-pro football for the Stateline Hawks in 2006 and then the Rock County Gladiators In 2007. When football season ended in 2007 I went back to my kickboxing gym and they had started a MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) program since I been gone. The owner hired a jiu jitsu instructor to teach us what we needed to know on the ground. So I started training In MMA and finished my amateur career in May of 2009 with nine wins, two losses and seven of those wins by KO. I Obtained 3 titles as an amateur and they are.... (STATE LINE WARRIOR TITLE AT 145LB) (2008 KICK/WAKO NATIONAL TOURNMENT TITLE AT 135LB) (2009 KING OF THE RIVER TITLE AT 135LB). I began my pro career in May of 2009. I am currently 3-1 and two of my wins were by KO. I have the ECO (Extreme Cagefighting Organization) title at 135lb that I Obtained November 14th 2009. My goals for 2010 are to win the Combat USA tournament and get signed to a major fighting organization like the WEC (World Extreme Cagefighting Organization) or Strikeforce.
